STEVENS, Robert Joseph -- Age 66, of Flint, died August 19, 2015. Services will be held 11:30 AM Monday August 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with services following at 1 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 12-6 PM Sunday and 10 - 11:30 AM until time of service on Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Red Cross or ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Robert was born December 11, 1948 in Flint the son of Charles Kenneth and Marie Antoinette (St. George) Stevens. He married Sandra S. Cross on August 3, 1974. He was a Veteran of the U.S.A.F and the U.S.M.C. He worked for GM - EDS - HP. He was a captain of Disaster Recovery For Genesee County Red Cross. Robert was a member of the American Legion. He was very dedicated and hard working. He was an avid animal lover. He was a very devoted GRUMPA. . He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra; 2 children, Nicole (David) Sarkett, Robert "Bobby" Stevens Jr.; grandchildren, Avery, Isabelle, Liam; loving pets, Woodrow and Patches; siblings, George (Emily) Stevens, Charles (Sue) Stevens, Judy Stevens, Debbie (Richard) Schultz; sister-in-law, Brenda Stevens; in-laws, Kathleen Mitchell, John (Ann) Cross, Cindi (Gary) Gronau, Peggy (Bill) Trigger; mother-in-law, Trudy Cross; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, George Cross; brother, John; sister and brother in law, Edith and Jack Byrd; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nancy Stevens.
