Robert Crouter Staples

STAPLES,  Robert Crouter -- Age 80, of Flint, died December 11, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Cremation has taken place. No services will be held. Mr. Staples was born December 10, 1923 in Flint the son of Clayton and Mary (Crouter) Staples. He was a resident of Flint, coming from Flushing-Montrose area. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Theresa Ann Zaborowski on August 25, 1951. He retired from the Michigan Department of Treasury in 1988 with 40 years of service. He was a 40 year member of the Genesee Hills Golf Club. He was active in the Durant-Tuuri-Mott School and Brownell Community School District as PTA President and Community Council member. Mr. Staples is survived by: wife Theresa 'Terry'; 2 sons, Robert E. and wife Robin of Glenside, PA, David E. and wife Peggy of Mesa, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Andrew; sisters-in-law, Krystyne Newcombe, Dorothy Kokoczka; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
