Robert Simpson

SIMPSON, Robert Dwight - Age 81, of Swartz Creek and North Ft. Myers, FL, died Sunday, August 14, 2016. Services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, August 26 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project. Robert was born February 26, 1935 in Flint the son of George and Hazel (Hatt) Simpson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves for 33 years. He retired from GMSPO after 42 years of service. He and his wife were bus driver's for Swartz Creek Community Schools for many years. Robert also was a volunteer fire fighter for the Flint Township Fire Department and was a active member of the Augres Yacht Club. Surviving are: children, Leanne (Randall) Carter of Flushing, Michael (Monica) Simpson of Liberty Hill, TX, Donald (Shelley) Simpson of Burton, and David (Mary) Simpson of Shelbyville, IN; stepchildren, Tammy (John) Hunt of Flint, Theresa (Joe) Breed of Cheboygan, Kenneth (Jen) Weaver of Fenton, and Jennifer Weaver of Flint; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Simpson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Simpson; his children's mother, Nancy Simpson; grandson, Matthew Simpson; sisters, Vivian McGuire, Hazel Coleman, and Leah Chevalier.
