SECORD, Robert Dean passed away peacefully on September 16, 2012 at his home in Burton, MI. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday September 22, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be 12PM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for outstanding medical expenses. Robert was born to Dean and Evelyn Secord in Brown City, MI. Raised by his abandoned mom, Bob helped support his mom and four sisters from a very early 7 years old. He picked vegetables, assisted on a milk truck and helped on a bread route among many other jobs. At 17 he worked drywall with his step-father, Leonard Hawald. Bob graduated from Utica High School. Bob married in his early 20's and he and his wife were blessed with son, Robert II and daughter, Gaye Lynn. Shortly after his son was born, his mom gave him a baby brother, Ted Hawald whom he loved and in later years worked with for quite a while. About this time he started his own drywall company and ran it successfully for 59 years. After a dissolved marriage, he once again found love and many happy years with his new wife, his own 2 children and 2 step-children. As time passed his own son and daughter married and God blessed Bob with 6 grandchildren, Cassandra, Valerie, Kerry, Jeff, Robert III, and Abigail. He also had one step grandchild, Nicole. When his 2nd wife went to be with the Lord, he relished his time with Gaye Lynn, spoiled his grandchildren and spent treasured time with friends and family. 1993 introduced him to his present wife, Marilou with whom he shared bowling, traveling, boating, snowmobiling, fishing and best of all, Bradley, their great-grandson, and 20 wonderful years together. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Marilou; daughter, Gaye Johnson of Grand Blanc; son, Robert Secord II of Cornville, AZ; sisters, Margie Csernai of Kissimmee, FL, Patricia McGulpin of Almont, MI, Jerri and husband, Russ Bowker of Pontiac, Judy and her husband and Bob's "brother" Hunting Buddy and "Sweet Tooth" "partner in crime" Gary Seeburger of Midland, MI; brother, Ted Hawald of Shelby Twp, MI; five grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 step-grandchild; many coworkers and lifelong friends.
