Robert Ryan

Ryan, Robert Perry - Age 80, of Sanibel, FL, formerly of Flint, died June 3, 2017. Funeral mass was celebrated in Florida. Committal Services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, June 17 at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 10-11 AM Saturday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with procession following to the cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Children's Leukemia Foundation Of Michigan, 5435 Corporate Drive, Suite 306, Troy, MI 48078. Robert was born in Saginaw, Michigan on January 11, 1937 the son of Edmund Colbert and Susan (Shorts) Ryan. He resided in Flint, until he retired to Sanibel, Florida. Robert was married fifty-six years to Rosemary Agnes Kominek. He taught for the Flint Educational System for thirty years. Robert served in the National Guard. He held degrees from the University of Michigan including a Doctor of Philosophy in Education. He was active in Habitat for Humanity in both Michigan and Florida. Robert enjoyed current events at Big Arts on Sanibel. He is survived by his wife Rosemary; two sons, Chris (Maryori) Ryan whose children are Mary Ann Rose and Patrick Hugo, and Thad Ryan whose children are Hunter Perry, Jack B. and Lily Marie.
