ROGERS, Robert  Age 87, of Flint, died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor David Bowsher officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday and 11 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or McLaren Hospice. Mr. Rogers was born May 2, 1917 in Flint, the son of James C. and Hattie (Couch) Rogers. He was a life-long resident of Flint. Mr. Rogers married Isabelle Sexsmith and she preceded him in death on June 12, 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and a life member of American Legion Buick Post #310. He was a former member of Community Presbyterian Church and served on the Genesee County Board of Supervisors for four years. Mr. Rogers retired from Buick in 1979 as a Die Sinker, with 47 years of service. Surviving are: daughter, Judy McMichael of Swartz Creek; son, Robert J. Rogers and Cynthia Phelps of Flint; six grandsons, Todd McMichael and wife, Connie, Bradley McMichael, Matthew McMichael and wife, Laura, Brian Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Brent Rogers; five great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Rogers and wife, Mildred of Coral Springs, FL; brother-in-law, Russell Sexsmith of Grand Blanc; friend, Doris Greeley.
