Robert Rodgers

RODGERS, Robert Gerald - Age 77, of Byron, died April 6, 2018. A private family gathering will be held at a later date with burial in Conway Antrim Cemetery. Robert was born April 29, 1940 in Flint, the son of Trevelyn and Mamie (Finley) Rodgers. Robert earned a PhD from Wayne State University. He was married to Laura Kinsman on April 19, 1991. Mr. Rodgers retired from Oakland County, where he was the Director of Adult Education. Bob had a zest for life. Simple things pleased this good, decent man the most; watching sunsets, working in the woods, family holidays or lunch out with the kids. He loved and took pride in his children and adored his talented granddaughter, who is beautiful in many ways. Bob knew the importance of love, kindness and forgiveness. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Laura; daughters, Shana (Gary) Fleming, Shawn (Bryan) Smolowski and their mother, Elaine Rodgers; sons, Steve Harris and Michael Harris; granddaughter, Codenne; sisters-in-law, Mary (Joe) Chittick and Linda Kinsman; brother-in-law, Neal (Beth) Kinsman; many special nieces and nephews and their children.
