Robert Pirie

PIRIE, Robert Lester - age 79, formerly of Lennon, died May 4, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10 AM - 11 AM Wednesday at the church. Robert was born May 25, 1938 in Detroit the son of Andrew Lester and Helen Evelyn (Taylor) Pirie. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from GMSPO after 42 1/2 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. Local 659. He married Rebecca Delphina Torres in July of 1988. Robert was a member of Fenton Road Baptist Church and had attended Twin Cities Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church. His faith in Christ was his number one priority. Robert enjoyed woodworking, horses and running in his younger years. Surviving are: wife, Rebecca; four children, Robert Lester Pirie, Jr. of Melvin, Richard Edward (Mary) Pirie of Port Huron, Rachelle Carol Pirie of Marlette, and Robert Torres of Waterford; six grandchildren, Richard Edward Pirie, Jr., Rebecca Missy Rachelle Pirie, Ryan Carl Pirie, Randy Lee Pirie, Reanna Pirie, and Roger Pirie; two sisters, Evelyn Monahan; and Andrea Pirie Plotkowski.
