Robert Paul Oxley

OXLEY, Robert Paul - age 79, of Fenton, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at his residence. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor Brian Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday and 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or plant a tree in his memory. Mr. Oxley was born June 20, 1932 in Flint, the son of James D. and Julia (Secquer) Oxley. He married Darla Ann Goss on June 13, 1953 in Fenton. Mr. Oxley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors Grand Blanc Fisher Body Plant. Mr. Oxley was a member of the Fenton VFW and the Holly American Legion. Surviving are: wife, Darla of Fenton; three children, Rebecca (William) Taylor of Fenton, Steven (Patricia) Oxley of Fenton, and Ramona (Chuck) Campbell of Fenton; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, John Oxley of Grand Blanc; two sisters, Phyllis Jean Oxley of Durand and Rose Oxley of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Dale Goss of Fenton.
