Bob Nelson passed away peacefully in his sleep after only a month long battle with an aggressive cancer. He was the 3rd generation owner of his family business, Liquid Drive Corporation from 1984 to 2005. He remained active in the business doing Consulting Engineering for the 4th generation owner, his daughter Brandy Nelson, until his passing. Bob was most proud of the equipment he provided for the self-unloading, Great Lakes ore carriers. The drives he provided are still operating on 85% of the ships today. Bob was a life-long resident of Holly, MI. He was a husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle to his loving family. He was an active Elder of his church, and will be dearly missed not only by family, but by all who knew and worked with him. His "mountain of a man" height never let on the quiet, gentle, caring nature he carried inside. He wanted everyone to know he loved God, his church and the congregation of Fenton First Presbyterian Church. We send him into God's loving arms to be cared for now and for all of eternity. He is survived by wife Patricia, two daughters and sons-in-law Brandy Nelson [Jason Steele] and Pollyanna Lucas [Scott], both of Fenton, step-son Lyman [Rocky] Rhodes of Brooklyn, NY, two granddaughters Savanna and Brooklynn Lucas, four sisters, Nan Yokom [Ron] of Harrisville, Carolyn Denson [Arnold] of Oscoda, Jeannie Lewis of Manistee, and Linda Burns [Tim] of Holly, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at the Fenton First Presbyterian Church, 503 S. Leroy St., Fenton on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Fenton First Presbyterian Church. We love you Bob.
