Robert B. Martin

MARTIN,   Robert B., age 93 of Fenton, died Monday March 14, 2005 at Crestmont Nursing Home.   He was born on December 15, 1911 Beaverton, Mi. the son of Raymond and Evelyn (Hamer) Martin.  On November 3, 1934 he married Clarine M. Acker in Midland. Mr. Martin had been employed for 17 years at General Motors Corp., both at Chevrolet and Buick Mtrs.  Later he owned and operated the Martin Used Cars and Travel Trailer Sales in Flint.  He retired in 1973 and spent many winters in Florida, enjoyed his bicycle and spent lots of time cycling.Surviving is his wife Clarine; 2 daughters; Connie Jo O'Brien of Grand Blanc and Sharon (Don) Ostrom of Gaylord.  Further survivors include 6 grandchildren; Lance Nicholson, Kim Tykocki, Jodi and husband Todd Stein, Dean Gulledge. Sheryl Clark and Christa Odykirk. 14 great-grandchildren, 6 brothers,  Melvin, Orley, Paul, Jim, David and Leo.  2 sisters; June and Olive and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Earl, a sister, Irene and grandsons, Robert Nicholson and Kent Odykirk. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd.  Rev. Tom Mattiuzzo will officiate.Services will conclude at the funeral home.Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be given to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.   Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday until service time.
