Robert Butler

Age 76, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Robert was born September 17, 1943 in Attalla, Alabama the son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence and Lola Mae (Henry) Butler. He graduated from Ainsworth High School.  During the time he worked at the General Motors V-8 engine plant, Robert graduated from the Flint Bible Institute.  He retired from General Motors in 2000, after 35 years of service.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a man of faith and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Butler; three children, Tim and wife Cris, Kristi and husband Jim, Bobby and wife Amanda; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Nadine and Clarence Jr. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lola Mae; siblings, James, Chuck, Bill and Mavis; and special dog, Pudge.
