KIRT, Robert John Sr. -- Age 72 of Mt. Morris, died July 4, 2014 at McLaren - Flint. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Tuesday July 8 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 2350 E. Hemphill Rd. Burton. Pastor Mark Lasley officiating. Visitation will be held 10 AM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.Those desiring may make contributions to Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Robert was born October 2, 1941 in Flint, the son of Reginald and Mildred (Barber) Kirt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Glenda Briggs on July 21, 1979 in Flint. Robert was a life resident of the Flint Area. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was past Commissioner of Boy Scouts and was a member of Scottish Rite, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Robert was also a Shriner. He enjoyed Baseball, Football and Hockey and also enjoyed reading the Bible. Surviving are: wife, Glenda; 7 children, Penny M. Armstrong of Owosso, Robert J. Jr. (Virginia) Kirt of Flint, Nancy S. (Todd) Wallerstein of Detroit, Denise R. Ellison of Houston Tx, Robin (Kenny) Grant of Amarillo, TX, Jana R. West of Mt. Morris, Trent (Cynthia) Bishop of Cohoctah; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Denise Ketchmark and Nancy Mozingo; several nieces and nephews.
