Robert Hunt

HUNT, Robert R. - age 100, passed away peacefully at his family farm in Fenton on September 9, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM Friday concluding with a rosary being prayed at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Michigan (www.somi.org). Mr. Hunt was a lifelong resident Fenton, a farmer and retired U.S. postal worker. He was a 1931 graduate of Fenton High School, member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Justice of the Peace, manager of Fenton Town Baseball Team and an official for the Genesee County Athletic Association. He and his late wife, Irene Schoemacker Hunt recently celebrated 71 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughters: Bernadine Saxe of Grand Blanc, Bethany Whetstone of Fenton, and Berniece (Frank) Starrs of Linden; his sons, Dr. Ronald (Jodie) Hunt of Fenton, Richard (Sherry) Hunt of Linden and Rodney (Laura) Hunt of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Anthony Saxe, Amy Saxe Custack, Robbie Hunt, Harrie Hunt, Victoria Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Aidan Hunt, and Nicholas Walczak; great-grandchildren, Marin Custack, Abby Custack, Cleo Saxe and Judah Saxe.
