Robert E. Holtslander Jr.

HOLTSLANDER,Jr. Robert Edmundson,Age 71,passed away Thursday,February 28,2008 at his home in Luzerne after a lengthy illness with cancer.Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday,March 29,2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes,Linden Chapel,209 E. Broad St.Linden.Visitation from 12:00PM until time of service.Robert was born October 6,1936 in Flint,MI.,the son of Robert Sr. and Dorothy(Wertman)Holtslander. Robert grew up in Fenton Township and attended Lake Fenton and Fenton Schools. Robert retired from General Motors Parts Division in 1995,he also owned and operated a painting business for several years.Robert married MaryAnn Ramos in 1956 and they had two children, Robert III and Dana. In 1994 Robert married Shirley(Robins)Cooney.Surviving are:wife,Shirley,son,Robert III(Diane)of Roscommons;daughter,Dana McDonald and children,Samantha and James (JJ),of Florida.Stepchildren and their children: Sherry Cooney wife of Richard(deceased),of Virginia;Ryan,Magen,and Shannon. James and wife Denise Cooney,of Concord,Kristine and Katie.Robert and wife Karin Cooney of Traverse City,Katherine, Jack and Maggie.Brother,Lloyd and wife Peggy Holslander of Swartz Creek;Sister,Betty and husband Richard Fent of Aiken,SC;Sister-in-law,Nettie Holtslander;and two special nephews;Jim Tardiff and Rick Holtslander and wife Sue.Several Nieces,nephews and cousins.Robert was preceded in death by his parents,sister,Barbara Dupree and brother,Frederick Sr.,MaryAnn,mother of his children and step-son Richard Cooney.Memorial donations; The American Cancer Society or Mercy Hospice, 324 Meadows Dr. Grayling,MI 49738.
