HERMAN, Robert Christian -- Beloved husband, father, and grandfather -age 77, of Chelsea, formerly of the Flint area, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Dale Grimm officiating. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Arbor Hospice. Robert was born August 2, 1929 in AuGres, the son of John and Anna (Freehling) Herman. He had resided in Chelsea for the past 1 1/2 years, coming from the Flint area. He was married to Carolina P. Bodek on July 6, 1956. He had first worked for Goodwill, and then went to work for F & E Manufacturing (Masco) of Owosso retiring in 1991 with 33 years of service. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Surviving are: wife, Carolina; three children, Dr. James R. Herman and wife Debora of Grass Lake, Janene S. and husband David Saidoo of Swartz Creek, Jane A. and husband Michael Koch of Belmont; ten grandchildren, Jeff Herman and wife Erin, Jessica, Katie, Kristine, and Nicole Herman, Sydney and Sean Saidoo, Casie and husband Austin Garrett, Kayla and Alison Koch. He was also awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild, Abigail Herman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
