Robert Reynolds 'Bob' HATHAWAY

HATHAWAY, Robert Reynolds, "Bob" age 81, of Fenton, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. Dean Dumbrille officiating. Interment will be 9:30AM Friday, June 4, 2010 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or National Kidney Foundation. Bob was born April 11, 1929 in Prophetstown, Illinois the son of the late Frank and Helena Hathaway. He married Dolores Guillermety in Chicago on May 5, 1956 and she preceded him in death on October 7, 1992. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He began employment as an insurance sale manager with Quaker City Insurance in 1955 and continued after the merger with United Life Insurance until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243 and a former Mason. Bob really enjoyed games, especially Euchre, Cribbage and Dominos. More than anything he was a family man, who loved his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter dearly. He will be loved and cherished forever. Surviving are his 3 sons, Greg and wife, Linda of Fenton, Richard of Livonia, Steven and wife, Connie of Swartz Creek; 5 grandchildren, Bill Hoffman and wife, Alicia, Angie Common and husband, Chris, Kayce Hathaway, Tony Hathaway, Allison Hathaway; great-granddaughter, Summer Hoffman; companion of many wonderful years, Faye Mikulenas.
