Robert Gunnels

GUNNELS, Robert Laverne and Mary Elizabeth - of Mt. Morris. Robert was 87, he died February 28, 2017. Mary was 86, she died April 25, 2015. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Sunday June 4 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will take place 1 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Kindred Hospice. ****************************************************************************************************** Robert was born March 1, 1929 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Agnes (Gilbert) Gunnels. He married Mary Troyer in Flint on April 2, 1949. Robert proudly served his country in the Maries from January 6, 1949 to March 8, 1955, during the Korean War. He retired from GM SPO with 31 years of service in 1981. He is survived by his children, Randy (Rosemary) Gunnels of Burton, Vickey (Ted) Ormiston of Clio, Bobby Gunnels (Michele Paquet) of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Brian Gunnels, Richy Gunnels, Shauna (Dan) Garner, Megan Ormiston and husband William Recker, and Kyle (Jen) Gunnels; great grandchildren, Danny Gunnels, Laiken Garner, Elsie Garner, and Brynn Garner; siblings, Paul Gunnels, Shirley Baty, and Carol (David) Schneiderham.
