GEORGE, Robert Harold - Age 64, of Flint Township, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 AM, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek. Private burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4 PM to 8 PM Tuesday and 1 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Parish will gather at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home to pray the rosary. Thursday morning Robert will be taken to church to lie in state from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Robert was born on December 20, 1956 in Swartz Creek the son of Harold and Maureen (Gannon) George. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School. Robert proudly served in the United States Army before his honorable discharge. He worked for FedEx for many years as "the friendliest" truck driver before his retirement. Robert was united in marriage to the love of his life, Karen Nance, on January 18, 1975 in Swartz Creek. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a very involved member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Many remember him singing in the choir for years. Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, going to the gun range, and spending time with family. He was a "handy man" and was always willing to help his family and friends with anything that was needed. He loved God, family, and his country with his whole heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen George; 4 children, Amy (Garth) Taylor, Lisa (Tim) Exum, Michael (Katie) George and Kara (Johnny) Genovese; 8 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Gavin, Gage, Alexis, Garrett, McKenzie, Giada and Cru; 7 siblings, Joseph (Nancy) George, Suzanne (Tom) Kelley, David (Rhonda) George, Bonnie (Brian) George, Bridget (Roger) Berens, Chip (Shell) George and John George (Kelly); and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Maureen George; and sister, Mary Russell. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
