Robert E. Gardner

GARDNER, Robert E., age 76, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday September 25, 2004 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Veterans honors will be performed under the auspices of Swartz Creek VFW/AMVets Post #3720. Visitation will be 2-5 and 6-9 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Gardner was born October 24, 1927 in Woodhull Township, the son of Ole and Bessie (Hilliker) Gardner. He married Dorothy M. Spratt and she preceded him in death. He then married Dorothy L. Marshall on March 22, 1996. He was a veteran of the US Navy and he retired from the GM V-8 plant after 22 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 659 and a member of Swartz Creek VFW Post #3720.  Mr. Gardner is survived by:  wife, Dorothy of Swartz Creek; son, Rodney Gardner of Swartz Creek; daughter. Dawn White and husband, Kevin of Texas; grandchildren, Roxanne and husband, Anthony McKee, Dorothy Jo and Eric Grantham, Jacob and Joseph Gardner; great grandchildren, Hannah and Caleb McKee; sisters, Betty L. Baldwin and Barbara J. Gardner; stepchildren Justin Marshall, Janice and husband, William Hansen, Shawn Jacobs; step grandchildren, Auston Marshall, Samantha and Amber Price.  Mr. Gardner was predeceased by:  first wife Dorothy M. Spratt; parents; siblings Leona Calhoun, Leo Gardner, Kenneth Gardner, Marion Patten, Ardith Ellsworth, Harold Max Gardner, Richard Gardner.
