FLOWERS, Robert Duane - Age 83, of Fenton formerly of Flushing, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Private services will be held at a later date. Robert was born June 18, 1932 in Flint, the son of Lovearn John and Florence (McCall) Flowers. He married Virginia Harlene Smith October 8, 1955 in Flushing. He retired in 1994 from GM Chevrolet Manufacturing after 31 years of service. He was a life resident of the Flushing area. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 659, Flushing Chamber of Commerce, and the Flushing Moose Lodge; and a former member of Flushing United Methodist Church. Robert was a volunteer Fireman in Flushing He enjoyed family, fishing, camping, and traveling. Surviving are: his wife of 60 years, Virginia; 4 daughters, Kimberly Flowers of Canton, Kathy (Jeff) McGeathy of Flushing, Kristi (Bill) Ocenasek of Grand Blanc, and Karyn (David Henson) Flowers of Flushing; special daughter, Janice Fredbloom of East Lansing; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Flowers, Matthew Baier, Jonathon (Sarah) Linsenman, James Baier, Nicholas Ballinger, and Joseph Ocenasek; brothers, Ronald (Carol) Flowers of Flushing, and David "Butch" (Ruth) Flowers of Freeland; sister, Bethann (Charles) Marcotte of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
