ELSEA, Robert Elroy - Age 91, of Fenton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, October 28, 2024. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 11, 2024, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens 950 N. Center Rd., Saginaw. Cremation arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton.
Robert was born September 9, 1933, in Toledo, OH, the son of Everett E. and Cleona B. (Heckman) Elsea. He received a Bachelor's Degree from General Motors Institute (Kettering University) and a Master Degree from Purdue University. Robert had resided in Fenton since 1976. He retired from General Motors Power Train Saginaw Malleable Plant after 48 years of service and also taught part time at Delta College for many years. Robert was a member of the American Foundrymen's Society of Automotive Engineers, S.A.E., J.C.I. Senator, and GM Fellow. He also served on the Fenton Museum Board. Robert was a voracious reader and enjoyed live theater. Robert also enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling.
Robert is survived by nephews, Kirk Elsea, and Kip Elsea; nieces, Margo Hampton, and Valerie Nelson; lifelong friend, Harry J. Sayers; and several other friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Cleona B. Elsea; sisters, Mary Rich and Carol Joyner; brother, Richard Elsea; niece Alyson Rich; nephew, Dane Rich. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
