Robert Arthur DELBRIDGE

DELBRIDGE, Robert Arthur - age 70, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday and 12-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Robert A. Delbridge Memorial Fund. Robert was born October 17 1941 the son of Jay and Jennie Delbridge. He joined the U.S. Army is 1958 at the age of 17 and served his country for 20 years. He was a graduate of Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma where he received his bachelor degree in criminal justice. Robert worked for the Lawton Police Department, and was president of the La Sill Optimist Club. Robert also was a mechanical engineer at Fisher and Wright and also at Goyette in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Delbridge married the love of his life 48 years ago Sieglinde Volker on September 8, 1964. They had 5 children which include 4 daughters; Cindy Saltus of Norman OK., JoAnn and Mike Sanderfer of Norman OK., Pamela and Wayne Gross of Swartz Creek, Terri and Michael Clark of Hartland. Two sisters; Dorothy Jackson (Jim) of Flint and Rosemary Bock (Dale) of Marshall MN.; two brothers Raymond (Carol) Delbridge of Swartz Creek, Vern (Karen) Delbridge of Linden; Several special cousins. Robert also had 13 grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Mark, Matthew, Cherie and Shannon Gross, Natosha, Nathan, and Nicole Saltus, Tyler Sanderfer, Autumn Delbridge, Mikala Gatliff, Alexis, Leah and Nicholas Clark. He is preceded in death by his son Randy J. Delbridge, Father Jay P. and his mother Jennie L. Delbridge. Bob was a family man who loved his family and friends.
