Robert Dassinger

DASSINGER, Robert Frank - Age 79, of Fenton, died Sunday, February 20, 2022.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton (A live stream of the Mass will be available on Robert's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant.  Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the Mass.  Those desiring may make contributions to a veteran's organization of your choice.

Robert"Bob" graduated from St. Mary's H.S. in Bismark, ND in 1960 where he enjoyed playing basketball and the saxophone. After H.S. he joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy he met Mary, they wed in 1970, had 2 daughters: Lisa and Amy and moved from California to Oregon, then Washington where he lived until November 2020 when he moved to Michigan to be near Lisa. Some pastimes he enjoyed were: bowling, camping and fishing with the family, photography, house projects, landscape, fixing cars, and recounting his drag racing days. He was an avid Seahawks and Mariners fan, also a Nascar fanatic. He was a loving and devoted husband/father/brother/son with a great sense of humor that will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure to know him..

Surviving are; his daughters, Lisa Ann (Cash) Anderson of Fenton and Amy Diane (Kevin) Olson of Washington State; sibling, Carol (Leo) Hilzendeger of Washington State, Richard "Rick" (Jean) Dassinger of Montana, Ronald (Ann) Dassinger of Montana, Marie (Larry) Hart of Montana, Marlene Jones of Montana, and Karen Walker of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
