Robert Dasen

DASEN, Robert Eugene - Age 93, of Cameron Park, CA, formerly of Flushing, died Friday, July 16, 2021 in Placerville, CA. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, MI. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Robert was born January 7, 1928 in Flint, the son of Gerald F.S. and Bessie I. (Jump) Dasen. He married Betty Louise Hayes in Flint on April 17, 1948; she preceded him in death on May 12, 2007. He was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1952 and served until 1954. Mr. Dasen was an automotive die designer for General Motors (Chevrolet and Cadillac) for 39 years and a GM consultant six years after his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Flushing United Methodist Church and a Flint Male Chorus member for 37 years. He enjoyed woodworking and was famous for his Victorian potting shed. He moved to California in 2014 where he enjoyed the nice weather and sunshine.
He is survived by his two children, E. Theresa and husband Bill Lickman of Chesaning, Dr. Kevin Dasen and wife Diane of Shingle Springs, CA; two grandchildren, Ann and husband Ryan Dorhout of Broomfield, CO; and Julia Dasen of Shingle Springs, CA; great-grandson, Aiden Dorhout of Broomfield, CO; sister, Beverly Anderson of Waterloo, ON, Canada; sister-in-law Etta Dasen of Corunna, MI; brother-in-law, Robert and wife Verna Hayes of Flint, MI; brother-in-law, Ray Jimenez of Flushing, MI; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald (Junior), Alvin and Rollin.
