Robert Dart

DART, Robert D., age 84, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Heritage Manor. Funeral Services will be 1PM Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors performed under the auspices of Swartz Creek VFW Post # 3720. Visitation will be 2-8PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Robert's memory. Robert was born April 22, 1924 in Flint the son of the late George and Orilla (Muchler) Dart. He married Alice Shaw in 1947 and she preceded him in death April 11, 1998. Robert was employed by General Motors as a pipe fitter for 40 years until his retirement in 1986. He also served honorably in the U.S. Army. Surviving are his 3 children, Bernetta Alexander of Swartz Creek, Linda Samuelson of Swartz Creek, Melvin (Barb) Dart of Flint; 6 grandchildren, Larry, Mark, Vicki, Pamela, Melissa, Angie; 9 great-grandchildren; 9 siblings, Donald (Maxine) Dart of Flint, Betty Johnson of Swartz Creek, Harold (Wanda) Dart of Swartz Creek, Duane Dart of Flint, Russell (Carole) Dart of Pennsylvania, Ralph (Pam) Dart of Swartz Creek, Gladys (Gerald) Merkle of Three Rivers, Kenny (Nora Jane) Dart of Swartz Creek, Joanne (James) Wakeman of Fenton; sister-in-law, Eloise Starkey of Fenton; several nieces and nephews.
