Robert Cushman

Cushman, Robert Leo- Age 89, of Flint Township, died November 16, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30AM Thursday November 21, at St. Pius Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth St, Flint. Father Robert Copeland celebrant. Entombment in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 9:30AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Heart to Heart Hospice or Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Blanc. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint. Robert was born January 25, 1930 in Flint, the son of Morris Ray and Mary Sarah (French) Cushman. He married Ellen Mae Dutrizac on October 8, 1949 in Flint. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2016. Robert retired from General Motors Buick Division with 38 years of service as a supervisor. He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and served as an usher. Robert also was a communicant at Holy Family Catholic Church. He was also a member of Buick Club Of America. Robert enjoyed rebuilding classic cars and restored multiple national award winning Buicks. He was a master of all trades and could fix anything. Robert is survived by his 6 children: Lawrence (Geraldine) Cushman of Beverly Hills MI., Gail (Herme) Rosario of Albuquerque, NM., Susan (Mark) Schowalter of Flint, Jane (Bill) Harris of Grand Blanc, Stephen (Sarah) Cushman of Flushing, Richard (Kelly) Cushman of Fort Mill, SC.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1great-great grandson. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Catherine Heemer, Josephine Cushman; brother: Maurice Cushman; great-grandson: Adrian Healy.
