CLARK, Robert J. -- Age 80, of Fenton, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Rev. Emerson Arntz officiating. Interment in Byron Cemetery, with a service by the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post 3243 Honor Guard. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 PM Friday, 2-3 PM Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to Pioneer Valley Boy Scout Fund, Springfield, MA or to the MSU Scholarship Fund. Mr. Clark was born August 4, 1923 in Argentine Township the son of Jay Roy Clark and Elsie May (Hutchinson) Clark. He had resided in Fenton since 1982 coming from Springfield, MA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in WWII. He earned his B.S. from Michigan State in 1950 and his M.S. in 1952. Mr. Clark married Edith Clagett on August 19, 1945 in Washington, DC; she preceded him in death September 28, 1989. He then married Anna Belle (Barron) Johnson on August 25, 1990 in Fenton. He worked as a Physicist for 31 years retiring in 1982. Â He was a member of the Lake Fenton United Methodist Church. He was a member of the WWII Marine Reunion Group, American Physics Society, Physics Honorary Society, Sigma Phi Sigma. He was a Scout Master for 25 years and was a holder of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award and Order of Cincinnati War Award. He was a Counselor Commissioner for Boy Scouts and a sponsor and active member of Company A-3rd AMPH, Tractor Battalion He enjoyed traveling, boating and gardening. Surviving are: wife, Anna B. Clark; son, William Clark of Louisville, KY; 2 daughters, Suzanne M. and husband Peter Kenney of Ashland, MA, Dorothy E. 'Dora' Clark and fiancee Robert of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Leigh Kenney of Watertown, MA, Thomas Kenney of Ashland, MA, Gail Kenney and fiancee David of Watertown, MA; step-daughter, Suzanne Horn of Lake Leelanau; step-grandchildren, Kimberly and Jeff Horn of Lake Leelanau; brother, Gerald E. and wife Francis of Fenton and Claremont, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Edith; foster son, Samuel Van Ness; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Charles Vandermark; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Pauline Clark; brother, Eugene Clark.
