CHERBA, Robert Rob Alan  Age 48, of Byron, died suddenly of a heart attack Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held 3-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Robert Alan Cherba Educational Fund for his children. Mr. Cherba was born September 23, 1955 in Flint, the son of Robert V. and Evelyn (Francis) Cherba. He was a 1973 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and a 1978 graduate of Ferris State University with a bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering. Mr. Cherba married Donna Jean Berns on September 26, 1981 in Monroe. He owned and operated GDE Engineering in Fenton, MI. Mr. Cherba was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America serving as a leader for the Explorers. He enjoyed kayaking and building kayaks. Surviving are: wife, Donna Jean; two sons, Rob B. and Adam C. Cherba, all of Byron; parents, Robert V. and Evelyn Cherba of Linden; brother, David Cherba and wife, Wendy of Grand Blanc; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Dolly Berns; sister-in-law, Bonnie and husband, Steve Thompson, all of Monroe; several nieces and nephews.
