Robert "Bunta" Louis Smith, age 57 of Swartz Creek, passed away on October 31, 2022 after a two year long battle with the effects of a stroke. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. No service is planned at this time. Robert was born May 31st, 1965 in Fort Dix NJ. Son of Bonnie Vail and Louis Smith. He was raised in Canadian Oklahoma until he graduated in 1984.
From the age of 12 he was working on small engine repair and motorcycles. He held a deep love and passion for mechanics, cars and motorcycles. Robert could fix just about anything. A jack of all trades kind of guy. He loved riding his 1981 Yamaha Enduro, popping wheelies and waving to others as he rode by. He also enjoyed fishing for Catfish and Bass with friends and family. He had a love for Anime, Robert's favorites were Dragon Ball, Initial D, MHA, Inuyasha, K-ON and several others.
Eventually he met his wife Terry Manley in Dickson TN and married her June 8th 1990. Some time later he ended up in Swartz Creek Michigan in 1994 where he worked at Venture in Flint & Brighton until 2005. Then 2005-2008 he worked at Diversified Machines Inc in Howell. Robert even assembled the intact manifolds for the Shelby Mustang, and he worked janitorial at SCCS's for a small period of time then stopped working to care for his wife until her passing in 2012. After which he stayed at home to care for their daughter. Robert has made so many friends. He was a good neighbor and father to all that he knew. He always put his family ahead of himself and offered his mechanic wisdom and knowledge to others. Surviving is his daughter Britney (Alice) Smith of Swartz Creek, his furry companions Mugi and Mr. Stark. Close friends; The Spalding Family, Ralph Newton, Ashley (Ace) Peters and Valery Hortin. Niece Charlotte Young, Aunt Imo Jean Vail Robertson, Cousins Johnna, Glen and Phyllis of OK along with several other cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Glenda, daughter Katty, nephew Brian Salmons and his wife Terry. Along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
