Robert William BLOSS

BLOSS, Robert William - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, March 28, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 & 6-9 PM Sunday. Robert was born April 12, 1930 in Mundy Township, the son of Warren D. and Genevieve (Rieder) Bloss. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and was a member of 1st Calvary 7th Division Infantry. Mr. Bloss was married to Mary Joann Jernigan on June 15, 1973; she preceded him in death on May 2, 1996. Mr. Bloss was a retired Iron Worker and member of Iron Workers Local #25. He was also a member of the Swartz Creek American Legion Post #294, Swartz Creek V.F.W. Post #3720, Iron Workers Retiree Club. Surviving are: children, Neil Bloss, Paul Bloss; step-children, Randall (Julie) Jernigan, Rodney (Karen) Jernigan, Ricky Jernigan, Rebecca Jernigan; brother, Donald Bloss; grandchildren, Ashley Lord, Chad Slocum, Jerad and Rendle Bernard, Derrick Williams, Kevin Jernigan; nieces and nephews.
