Robert D. BLAKE

BLAKE, Robert Dean - Age 84, of Flint Township, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at his residence. Cremation has taken place and interment of cremated remains will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later dates. Robert was born June 20, 1924 in Saginaw, the son of Edward and Nina (LaGrow) Blake. He married Phyllis Sweet May 24, 1946 in Angola, IN. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from GM as a Tool and Die Maker. Robert was a member of the Flushing V.F.W. Post #5666 and the Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge #535 F. & A.M. He also enjoyed camping, boating and traveling. Robert loved to travel to every State especially out west and he enjoyed campfires. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis; daughter, Pati and husband Duane Wittum of Durand; son, Michael and wife Cindy Blake of Swartz Creek; 6 grandchildren, Tricia and husband Steven Oakes of Corunna, Bob and wife Kathy Wittum of Holland, Lisa and husband Joel Humphrey of Grand Blanc, Tony Blake of Philadelphia, PA, Susanna Zembo of Swartz Creek and Randi and husband Jarrod Cherwinski of Clio; 9 great-grandchildren, Monica, Griffin, Christian, Amanda, Michael, Alaina, Hunter, Carson and Connor.
