BLACK, Robert B. - Age 85, of Fenton, died December 27, 2011. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Janiuary 5, 2012 at The Chapel of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. John Columbarium. The family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. Thursday at church until time of Mass. Robert was born July 31, 1926 in Detroit the son of the late Thomas and Angeline (Stefanski) Black. He was married to Margaret in 1947; she preceded him in death in 1965. He then married Martha Black on September 1, 1966 in Mt. Clemens and she preceded him in death in 1999. Robert was a graduate of De La Salle High School in Detroit and he earned his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Detroit Institue of Technology. He was employed as an Engineer for Detroit Edison for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He married Elaine Kennedy on January 29, 2001 in Ohio. Robert was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and being with friends and family. Surviving are children, Robert Black (Mary) of Mt. Pleasant, David Black (Jan) of North Miami, FL; 2 grandchildren, Jeremy Black of Los Angeles, CA and Jason Black (Leanne) of Mt. Clemens; great-granddaughter, Hayley Black; sister, Constance Schuster (Chuck) of St. Clair Shores and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Black.
