BILLS, Robert Bruce "Bob" - Age 81, of Fenton, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022. Per Bob's request cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430.
Bob was born November 8, 1941 in Flint, the son of Earl and Helen (McPhillips) Bills. He was a 1960 graduate of Flint Central High School and he attended Flint Junior College. He served in the National Guard. He married Mary Lou Haffner August 2, 1969 in Fenton. Bob had resided in Fenton since 1969 coming from Flint. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and he also owned and operated Payne's Bar on Saginaw Street in Flint. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 598, Fenton Moose Lodge and the Fenton Eagles. He was a former member of the Linden Masonic Lodge and he was a Shriner. Bob was a docent at the Gladys Potter Zoo in Brownsville, TX.
Surviving are: his wife, Mary; daughters, Connie Dotson of Fenton, Denise (Richard) Hauk of Fenton, Kimberly Stiak of California and Lisa Lachowicz of Fenton; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and cousin, Louise Wright of Clio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Bills. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfunearlhomes.com.
