BIESS, Robert L.- age 81, of Fenton, died Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will also be held 9:30 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign. Mr. Biess was born August 11, 1926 in Detroit the son of Stanislaus and Bernice (Domzalski) Bess. He married Frances Bryzek on October 18, 1947. Mr. Biess was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1981 after 35 years of service. Mr. Biess was a member of St. John Catholic Parish. He enjoyed collecting models of classic cars and loved building, gardening and sports. In his younger years he played baseball, swam the breaststroke and played semi-pro football. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are: wife,Frances of Fenton; two daughters, Andrea and husband, Lester Gitre of Byron,Renee and husband, Joel Roberts of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Lester Gitre III, Delaney and Kelly Roberts; sister, Patricia and husband, Raymond Kusza; brother, Donald Biess; many nieces and nephews.
