BECKWITH, Robert Clarence Sr. -- Age 97, of Flint died, April 24, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Wednesday April 29, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt Morris. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM on Tuesday. Visitation will also be from 10:30 Am until time of service at the church on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Pius Catholic Church or VFW Chevrolet Post 3087. Robert was born June 28, 1917 in Ann Arbor the son of Clarence H. and Mary (Lerg) Beckwith. He married Agnes Helen Sargent in Swartz Creek in June 1941 she preceded him in death March 9, 2012. Robert was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church. He was a member of the K of C, and a life member of VFW #3087. He was a member of UAW Local 651. He is survived by daughter, Mary Hayes of Tawas; grandchildren, Ron (Jamie), Steve (Destiny), Dan (Monta) Amber (Lonny), Susan; several great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren: sister, Jean Steel; niece, Carolyn (Chuck). He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Alfred, son, Robert Jr; wife; son- in- law David Hayes; daughter- in- law, Beverly Beckwith.
