Robert was born September 24, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Raymond and Anne (Mianowski) Banks. He was a 1965 graduate of Fenton High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He married Joyce Catherine McFall February 6, 1971 in Denver, CO. Robert had resided in Linden since 2013 coming from Flushing. He owned and operated Printing Associates in Burton. He was a member of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243 and was a former member of the Rotary Club of Flint. He was a former board member of The Humane Society of Genesee County and he adopted many boxers from The Humane Society over the years. Robert was a great storyteller. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing in the Outer Banks, reading and bird watching. He spent many years sailing The Great Lakes.
Surviving are: his wife of 54 years, Joyce; children, Monica (Ronald) March of Swartz Creek, Michelle (Michael) McBurney of Swartz Creek, Michael (Andrea) Banks of Fenton and Joseph (Laura) Banks of Flushing; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Carol) Banks of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Anne Banks; daughter, Mary Banks; granddaughter, Courtney Banks; and sister, Elaine Adkins.
The family would also like to thank Olivia from Elara Caring Hospice and the staff of the ALS clinic at the VA Ann Arbor.
