Robert D. Ballard, age 84, of Flint, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The Visitation will be held 3pm- 8pm on Monday November 18, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel. Visitation will resume the following day at 9am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11am at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Robert was born July 18, 1940 in Holly, Michigan, the son of the late Erwin & Edna. He was employed with Fenton Machine & Tool and retired in 2002. In his early years he loved to hunt and fish. He along with his late wife, Wilma, were also on couples bowling leagues. Robert was a simple man who could be found in his garage working on lawn mowers and other small engines. He like to watch old Western shows and he went all out every Holiday with decorating the house and yard. He was a member to the Fenton Fraternal Order of the Eagle since 1988. Above all his family will miss him dearly especially his grandchildren whom he spoiled.
He is survived by his children, Sheri Alexander and Julie Flynn; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; his sister, Leona Conn, brother, Clarence (Esther) Ballard and furry companion, Zeus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Ballard in 2008; daughters, Jill Cokeley and Rebecca Ballard; sister, Bea Elmore; 4 brothers, Clyde, William, Norman and Howard and his great-granddaughter, Lillian Ballard.
