Robert Bailie

Bailie, Robert Dale "Bob" - Age 85, of Burton, died June 7, 2019. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Thursday June 13 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint, Pastor Brian Oswald officiating. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly immediately following the funeral . Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Wednesday, and 11 AM until the time of the funeral Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to Flint Area Right to Life . Robert was born February 15, 1934 in Flint the son of Samuel and Jessie (McClenathan) Bailie. He served at the rank of Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was very proud to have served as a Marine, and served with his brother Paul. Bob married Lorraine Millen on June 22, 1968. He retried from General Motors in 1982. Bob attended Glad Tidings Tabernacle and was strong in his Faith. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, most importantly spending time with his grandchildren "his pride and joy." Surviving are: wife of 50 years Lorraine; daughter Robin (Gary) Welsh; granddaughter Denae Welsh; grandson, Andrew Welsh; brother Paul Bailie; sisters, Judy (Neil) Climer, Prudy (Pete) Hannigan, all of Flint; brother-in-law Donald Palmer; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Isabelle "Jean" Bailie, Wanda Palmer; and infant brother Jimmy. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
