BAILEY, Robert G. - Age 87, of Fenton, died Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Pines of Lake Fenton.  A memorial service will be held 1 PM Friday, December 16, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the service Friday.  Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice. Mr. Bailey was born February 20, 1918 the son of Leo and Lillian (Bridges) Bailey and had been a resident of Fenton since 1957. He married Margaret Alice Newberry on September 19, 1942 and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2001. Mr. Bailey had been employed by Soloman, Holloway and CJ Rogers working as an Operating Engineer in road construction and helped build US-23. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton, VFW Curtis Wolverton Post 3243 of Fenton, and Lake Fenton Homeowners Association. Mr. Bailey was a! lso a member of Operating Engineers Union #324 of Howell. Surviving are 3 daughters, Jacquie and husband Chuck Haus of Linden, Paula and husband John Murphy of Sierra Vista, AZ, Deborah and husband Larry Melnick of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Rebeka, Brad, Chad, Kelle;  brother, Donald and wife Renee Bailey of Tacoma, WA; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Alexander, sister, Betty LaFond.
