Robert B. Avery

Avery, Robert B.- Age 52, of Durand, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his residence.  A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor John Walworth officiating.  Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 Noon until time of service Monday.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Memorial Health Care Hospice, 1488 N. Box 6003, Albert Lea, MN  56007-6603.  Robert was born November 18, 1953 in Flint the son of Robert F. and Joyce (Tweed) Avery.  He was a 1971 graduate of Durand High School and married Sandra Hopkins November 24, 1978 in Durand.  He had lived in Durand for many years and had worked for Canadian National Railroad.  He was a member of the Durand V.F.W. Auxillary and was an assitant coach for AYSO Soccer. He also enjoyed hunting, Las Vegas and riding his Harley Fat Boy.  Surviving are: wife, Sandra; 2 daughters, Cherie and husband Brian Taylor of Lennon, Nicole Avery of Grand Blanc; 2 grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jordan; Mother, Joyce Avery of Durand; sister, Laura and husband Bruce Blackburn of Durand; brother, Mark Avery of Durand; sister-in-law, Linda and husband Dennis Schlieger of Flushing; brother-in-law, Michael Hopkins of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, Dean and wife Pam Jones of Durand.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grant and Geraldine Hopkins.  Tributes and condolences may be sent to www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
