Robert Frank ARVOY

ARVOY, Robert Frank - age 74, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at his residence. Services will be held 1:30 PM Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Fr. Steven Mattson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Saturday and 1-3 and 5-8 PM Sunday where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 12:30 PM until the time of mass on Monday at the church. Mr. Arvoy was born July 29, 1935 in Durand, the son of Joseph and Mary (Drenovsky) Arvoy. He was a 1953 graduate of Durand High School and married Elizabeth Ann Klapko on November 9, 1957. Mr. Arvoy retired from General Motors in 1985 after 31 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Surviving are: wife, Elizabeth Ann Arvoy; three children, Debra and husband, Ralph Decker, Christopher Arvoy and Shelly, Dale Arvoy and wife, Cassandra; four grandchildren, Alex Decker, McKenzie, Jacob and Rachael Arvoy; siblings, Ed Arvoy, Tom Arvoy and wife, Nan, Helen Arvoy, Walt Arvoy and wife, Carol, Floyd Arvoy, John Arvoy and wife, Pat; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his grandson, Andrew Decker and brother, Joe Arvoy. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Pram, Dr. Maulde, Dr. Zaki, the nursing staff on the 8th and 11th floors of McLaren and McLaren Hospice.
