ANDERSON, Robert A. - Age 82, of Flint, died Monday January 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday January 8, at Our Risen Lord, 4040 Lapeer Rd., Burton. Pastor Susan Lidmus officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 12PM - 4PM and 6PM - 8PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to Our Risen Lord Church or the Genesee County Humane Society. Robert was born on April 3, 1933 in Gully, Minnesota and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Andrew and Christina Anderson. Robert was the son of the late Christ Nelson and Cora N. Anderson. He married Phyllis Hanson on April 19, 1951 in Gully, MN. Robert served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Anderson enjoyed picture framing, camping, traveling, watching and playing sports, shooting pool, music and cats especially his cat Bootsie. Robert also enjoyed spending many happy hours with his beloved daughters. Robert and Phyllis moved to Flint in 1955 where he later retired as a crane operator on January 1, 2000 with 45 years of service. Surviving are: wife, Phyllis of Flint; daughters, Kimberly and Christine Anderson both of Flint; sisters-in-law, Linda Anderson of MN and Joan Nelson of FL, Claudia (Larry) Binkley of Holly; special cousins, John (Pat) Erickson of MN and Jerry Erickson of MN; very special nephew Martin (Cathy) Nelson; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Allen Hanson of Grand Blanc, Victor (Pam) Hanson of Davison, and Richard Hanson of Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents; grand parents; daughter, Lydia Anderson;brother, Delano Anderson; cousin, Steve Erikson; sisters in law, Mary Hanson, Connie Hanson; niece Angela Binkley Burke; great grand nephew, Bjorn Hanson.
