Rita "RiRi" Ann Wortman Zamboldi - age 96, passed away peacefully April 22, 2025 at Provision Living in Grand Rapids surrounded by the love of family, friends and dedicated caregivers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Rd., Howell. Fr. Gregg Pleiness celebrant. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden and from 9:30AM until the time of Mass Wednesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Rita was born second youngest of 11 siblings to Mary and Bernard Wortman on January 8, 1929 in St. Marys, PA. Rita attended school in St. Marys and was involved in many sports and school activities. She worked various jobs during her school years to help contribute to the Wortman family.
She met the love of her life, George Zamboldi and they were married in St. Marys on October 7, 1950. Family was always the priority as six children followed with work and family taking them from St. Marys to Pittsford, NY, West Bloomfield, MI and Linden, MI. While in West Bloomfield, Rita had a successful 25 year career in banking; receiving many accolades and awards. She has always been active in her church and lived a life of faith, service and sacrifice.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings; husband, George; grandson, Andrew Simbeck and son, John Zamboldi. She is survived by her sister, Louise; children, Lisa (Denny) Simbeck, Julia Potts, Joe (Julie) Zamboldi, Ann (Brad) Back, George Zamboldi; grandchildren, Emily Simbeck, Stephanie Nelson, Adam Simbeck, Whitney Whitaker, Jordan Simbeck, Emily Potts, Madalyn Odell, Sam Potts, Jeryln Holland, Jerad Nicholson, Lindsey Back Loesch, Peter Back, Christopher Back, Krista Zamboldi, Joe Zamboldi, Alyssa Zamboldi; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Josephine, Nolan, Quinn, Connor, Peyton, Olivia, Brooke, Dillon, Everly, Koa, Audrey, Paige, Liam, Lake, Zinnia and 3 more on the way.
Special thanks to the many friends who have been there for Rita through the years. Also, thank you to the staff and caregivers at Provision.
Rita was "small but mighty" in her unwavering devotion to her husband, family, faith, work and friends. Truly a woman of kindness, grace, honor and loving spirit. She is at peace now with George in a special place reserved for borrowed angels. With gratitude, always and forever in our hearts. We love you RiRi.
