Rita Ann Waligora

WALIGORA, Rita Anne - Age 78, of Fenton, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, January 6, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Wednesday, and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday with a 7 PM Vigil service Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Family and friends will gather at the church from 10 AM until the time of the mass Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. John G.I.F.T. campaign. Rita was born July 26, 1927 in Detroit the daughter of Urban Wesley and Margaret (Moltane) Thibault; she had resided in Fenton since 1970. She married Austin 'Nick' Waligora on August 2, 1947 in Detroit; he preceded her in death March 30, 1992. Mrs. Waligora was a librarian at Mercy College, then worked for Consumers Power. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Women of the Moose, and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by: five children, Bob Waligora and wife Rosemary of Fenton, Larry Waligora and wife Sharon of Milford, Rick Waligora and wife Heidi of Sault Ste. Marie, Denise and husband Geoff Wilson of Fenton, Jayne and husband Dr. Jon Ziv of Oxnard, CA; eleven grandchildren, Matt, Danielle and husband Scott, Keith, Eric, Erin, Carley, Breanna, Adam, Mark, Zak, and Piper; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Gavin; sister Dolores and husband Dr. Harvey Orth of Grosse Ile; brother Raymond Thibault and wife Helen of Livonia; many nieces and nephews.
