LORANG, Rita L. - Age 82, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM and at church Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Rita L. Lorang Memorial Fund, c/o Sharp Funeral Homes. Rita was born September 14, 1933 in Bay City the daughter of George and Mary (Pashak) Horstman. She married James M. Lorang November 23, 1957 in Auburn and he preceded her in death February 3, 2012. She had resided in Fenton since 1960 coming from Flint. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Surviving are: sons, James Lorang and Matthew Lorang both of Fenton; grandchildren, Nicholas Valentine of New Mexico and Netalia Valentine of Colorado; siblings, Norman Horstman of Auburn, Gerald (Shirley) Horstman of Saginaw, George (Rosalie) Horstman of Midland, Ronald (Lois) Horstman of Lowell, Donald (Audrey) Horstman of Charlevoix, James Horstman of Midland, and Bennie Horstman of Saginaw; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Patrick Lorang; daughter, Rita Anna Valentine; brother, Richard; and sisters, Dorothy Valley and Agatha Jankowiak.
