Rita Jean HADDON

HADDON, Rita Jean - age 88, of Atlanta, GA, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. Bosco Paddamattummal celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mount Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338. Mrs. Haddon was born February 6, 1922 in Linden, the daughter of Henry J and Rosella Josephine (Bergin) Murphy. She married Paul Henry Haddon in May 1943 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Haddon was a school teacher for 21 years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, GA and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. Mrs. Haddon was an avid Bridge Player. Surviving are: four children, Cathleen (Dennis) Penland of St. Charles, MO, Michael (Janis) Haddon of Atlanta, GA, Patricia (Joe) Schmelzle of St. Louis, MO, Maureen (Ed) Buscher of Foristell, MO; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
