BLANKINSHIP, Rita Maria - Age 79, of Austin, TX formerly of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Sunset Hills Cemetery, G4413 Flushing Road, Flint. Those desiring may make contributions to the Arthritis Foundation or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Rita was born May 8, 1935 in Germany the daughter of Herman and Anna (Winter) Blumoer. She married Kenneth Lee Blankinship August 24, 1957 in Germany and he preceded her in death December 2, 1993. She retired from AC Spark Plug after 29 years of service. Surviving are: 2 children, Annette Caslmon of Davison and Michael and wife April Blankinship of Austin, TX; 2 grandchildren, Brendon and Megan Blankinship of Austin, TX; close family friends, Richard and Jennifer Mulherin and their children, Kenneth and A.J. of Flint.
