HOWD, Rick (Ricky) A. - age 63, of Linden, died Sunday, December 19, 2021. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Mark Evangelist Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 48439 with Fr. David Howell celebrant. Visitation will be held at 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, December 27, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 11 AM - 12 PM Tuesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations are made, in his name, to the American Cancer Society or St. Mark Evangelist church. Donation envelopes will be available at visitation or online at www.cancer.org or www.stmarkgoodrich.org.
Rick was born at St. Joseph hospital, Flint, to Richard and Erma Howd. He married his love, Pamela Carter, on June 2, 1984. He was overjoyed by the birth of his son Jon-Claude. Rick was a very active volunteer, Reserve Deputy, for the Genesee County Sheriff Office, 1982-2018. He was a devoted Christian and part of the St. Johns Fenton Catholic church, Christ Renews His Parish group. A large portion of his life was devoted to restoring antique autos, organizing car shows, and teaching others auto repair. At age 13, Rick began working on cars. Throughout his life, he fixed a thousand plus cars for business, family, and friends, and restored over 61 vintage antique autos. His favorite renovated vehicle was the 1923 Ford C Cab which placed first at the 2000 Detroit Autorama for the Riddler Award, and 2001 Detroit Autorama for the Altered Rod Truck award.
Rick’s love of auto’s was only exceeded by his devotion to family. Surviving is his wife, son; father, Richard Howd, three siblings Sandra Howd (Rex McIntyre), Brian Howd, and Lori Howd: many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and spiritual brothers; Dan Holifield (Robin), Dan Devereaux (Linda), and Charley Creelman.
