Rick Cavaness

CAVANESS, Rick Floyd - age 60, of Flint, passed away at his residence July 8, 2021. Funeral Services will be held 4 PM Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek 48473. Visitation will be at 1:30 PM until the time of the service on Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Rick Cavaness Memorial Fund c/o Sharp Funeral Homes. Rick was born August 17, 1960 in Flint, the son of Thomas "Bud" and Lois (Dickenson) Cavaness. Rick went to Flint Central High School Class of 1978, but most school days were spent at Richfield Park. Rick had a love for the races. He loved NASCAR and was a die hard Tony Stewart fan. He loved motor cross. The Cavaness boys had tons of trophies for racing anything with wheels and a motor. Rick was a great mechanic and body guy in his younger years. He always had the best hot rod in school. Rick loved his books, watching his shows, and whipping up a good meal. Rick was a great friend and most proud to be a Papa. He will be missed by many. Surviving are: daughter, Tiffany Cavaness (Shane Murray); granddaughters, Carley Cavaness, Madison Murray; sister, Kelly; brothers, Tom Cavaness, Tony (Terry) Cavaness; niece, Paige; nephew, Matthew; special family and friends, the Doyle's, the Escue's, the Schott's, the Shayler's, and the Barry's. He was preceded in death by his parents; and good friend, Dane.
